Privacy Policy
Last Updated: 17 August 2026
Right On Sod Inc (“we,” “us,” or “our”) respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect through this website (https://rightonsod.ca/), why we collect it, who it is shared with, and the choices you have. It is written to meet our obligations under Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).
- Information You Give Us
When you request an estimate or contact us through a form on this site, we ask for your name, email address, phone number, the address of the property, and a description of the work you want done. Our sod cost calculator additionally records the square footage you enter and the estimate it produces. All of this is information you choose to provide, and we only ask for what we need to quote and schedule the job.
Form submissions are not stored in a database on this website. They are sent to us by email and kept in our email system. - Information Collected Automatically
Like most websites, ours records standard technical information when you visit: IP address, browser and device type, the pages you view, how long you stay, and the site or search that referred you. This is collected through Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager, and is used in aggregate to understand which pages are useful and where visitors come from. We also record anonymous counts of interactions with on-site prompts — how many times a message was shown or clicked — which contain no personal information. - How We Use Your Information
We use the information you give us to respond to your enquiry, prepare and send a quote, schedule and carry out the work, invoice you, and follow up about the job afterwards. We use the automatically collected information to maintain and improve the website and to measure the performance of our advertising. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not rent or trade it to anyone. - Consent
By submitting a form on this site you consent to us using your information for the purposes set out above. You may withdraw that consent at any time by contacting us, subject to any legal or contractual obligations we still have — for example, records we must keep for tax purposes after completing work for you. - Service Providers and Sharing
We share personal information only with the providers that make this website and our business run, and only so far as they need it:
• Our web host, which stores this website and its email.
• Our website and marketing agency, which manages this site and receives enquiry notifications on our behalf.
• Google — Analytics, Tag Manager and Ads — for website measurement and advertising performance.
• NitroPack, which delivers this site’s pages and images through its content delivery network.
• Trustindex, which displays our Google reviews on this site.
Some of these providers process or store data outside Canada, including in the United States, where it may be accessible to authorities under the laws of that country. We do not otherwise disclose your information, except where we are required to by law. - Cookies and Tracking
This site does not set cookies of its own when you first arrive. Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager and Google Ads may set cookies to measure visits and to attribute enquiries to advertising. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and you can opt out of Google Analytics using the browser add-on Google provides. Blocking them will not stop you using this website or contacting us. - How Long We Keep It
We keep enquiry emails and project records for as long as we need them to serve you and to meet our legal, tax and insurance obligations, and we delete or anonymise them once that period ends. Analytics data is retained according to Google’s standard retention settings. If you would like your information removed sooner, contact us and we will do so unless we are required to keep it. - How We Protect It
This website is served over an encrypted HTTPS connection, and access to our email and site administration is limited to the people who need it. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we take reasonable steps to protect the information you give us against loss, misuse and unauthorised access. - Your Rights
You have the right to ask what personal information we hold about you, to receive a copy of it, to have it corrected if it is wrong, and to ask us to delete it. Contact us using the details below and we will respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada. - Other Websites
This site links to other websites, including our social media pages. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of any website we do not operate, and we encourage you to read their own privacy policies. - Children
Our services are directed at property owners. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of majority in their province. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it. - Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy as our practices or the law change. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last revised, and the current version always applies. - Contact Us
